The University of MONS studied the efficacy of embedding nano zinc particles into polymer films and fibers and were able to determine that adding 1% ZnO to PLA polymers and nanocomposites “shows almost perfect UV light shielding efficiency.”* They also determined that there was an “excellent antibacterial effect of zinc oxide nanoparticles dispersed within the PLA matrix”** of almost 99.9%, proving that any textiles embedded with ecoZinc will have powerful, proven, antibacterial effects.
