The Fort Lauderdale personal injury law firm launches an interactive guide which illustrates how the price of an Uber or Lyft beats the price of a DUI in every state.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, — Englander Peebles recently published a new interactive guide which asks the question: “Should you try to drive home after drinking, or should you call an Uber or Lyft instead?”
Based on the data collected and featured in the guide, the answer is clear: The price of taking an Uber or Lyft beats the price of driving after drinking – and the risk of getting charged with a DUI – in every state in the country.
The guide is called, “Fare Comparison: Drunk Driving vs. Ride Sharing.”
It features an interactive map. Users can click on any state and see the average cost of a DUI for that state (based on information from Finder.com, Statista.com and Bactrack.com). In every state, the cost is in the thousands, from as high as $5,966 in Arizona to as low as $1,961 in Idaho and Mississippi. Users can compare those DUI costs with the national average for a ridesharing trip, which is $15.
In addition to the direct costs of a DUI, the guide also explores the impact of a DUI on one’s relationships, family members, reputation in the community, auto insurance rates and future education and employment opportunities.
As the guide states, “Compare the costs and make the right call: Get a ride and never drink and drive.”
